This footage is from the evening performance I did at The Freddie Gee Drum Academy, following teaching during the day. My subject for the evening was High Energy Drumming & all the sub-genres that go with this (Punk, Thrash Metal, etc). I wanted to demonstrate regardless of the style of music you are playing it’s important and vital to look at drawing inspiration from the many different styles of playing that are out there and incorporate some of these ideas into your own playing. I chose Big Band Jazz and Hip Hop on this occasion.
